Orthoceras (Ancient Fossilized Squid).

A superb fossilized Orthoceras Plate. We only have one currently available.

This stone plate contains 4 x Orthoceras fossils and makes a great decorative piece and talking point. This superb specimen measures approximately 13cm x 9.5cm and is a great example of fossilized cephalopods.
The fossils within this plate are polished pieces with a nice shine which clearly shows off the fossil within. Commonly Orthoceras are found in sedimentary rock formations like limestone and shale.

Orthoceras was an ancient cephalopod that lived about 370 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid.

It is said that Orthoceras activates our root chakra by grounding us down to earth with ancient energy. It is believed that this fossil opens us to opportunity, wisdom, and transformation.
